This quaint 1950s semi-detached home was transformed on a budget through mostly DIY work. Original hardwood floors were restored, walls were repainted a soft off-white, and each room received added woodwork details like beadboard, box molding, and wainscoting. The biggest change was the kitchen, where two non-load bearing walls were removed to open up the space, and new cabinetry was built using IKEA boxes with semi-custom fronts, subway tile, quartz counters, and a butcher block island — with splurges reserved for appliances, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.
