Chicago Loft

This compact 400 sq ft loft-style rental was turned into a space that genuinely feels like home, working almost entirely within the constraints of a lease and a limited budget. The approach was about intentionality over square footage — layering in warmth and personality through thrifted finds, eclectic styling, and clever DIYs rather than any structural changes. With every inch mattering in a space this size, natural light was leaned into as a core design asset, and choices were made to maximize how open and livable the layout feels. For personal touches that couldn't be nailed into the walls, renter-friendly workarounds — like a chalkboard-painted "headboard" — keep the space feeling fresh and easy to evolve over time.
